HSA Home Warranty looks for reasons not to pay claims

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

When we bought our house over 3 years ago and the Realtor at Howard Hanna Sold us this home warranty. We have renewed it every year for around $1300 a year.

Our Dishwasher stopped working in August and we turned in a claim. They sent a repair man out and the repair man said it was the mother board, he ordered the parts and came back to fix it the following week. The dishwasher worked for 2 weeks and did the same thing where it was making noise then just stopped working again. HSA sent the same repair man out and he said he doesn't know what it wrong with it and marked it unrepairable.

HSA then told us that we must have had a power surge and denied the claim. We told them that there was no way we had a power surge 2 times and only the dishwasher was effected and they said that it couldn't be anything else. We argued with them but they would not approve the claim for a new one. We canceled the contract with them and bought a new dishwasher.

The installer tested the electric and said the problem was not a power surge. So basically we paid $1300 every year for 3 years and that warranty never covered anything. So over 3 years we paid HSA $3900 and they couldn't even replace a $1000 dishwasher.

Shame on you HSA Home Warranty for taking advantage of your customers!!! Shame on YOU!

I am a real estate agent and one of my clients got an HSA warranty with her purchase. She needs the furnace fixed and the contractor that they assigned it to has not shown up after weeks. when the company is called I talk a customer service department in the Phillipines and there is never a manager available and they won't do anything or change the contractor. I have a new appreciation for the company that we use which is AHS because these people have basically stolen money from the transaction so far.

This might be the worst Warranty company on the planet. Spent 30 days with no hot water heater and no one handling the problem, so I ended up doing it myself. Now AC went out, contractor came mentioned I need a new AC compressor. I see my case was closed, but it's not fixed. I guess we pay our $100 service call and no one takes care of the issues. Looks like I am on my own again. Called the company and they started another case, now that case is closed. Time to get a lawyer, it looks like! Keep paying and nothing. Still waiting for a check from me, doing the water heater they promised. Company is a joke

Dissatified Customer

5 days ago my refridgerator went out. The repair person came today and without even pulling it out to dertermine the problem made the assumption that it was a condensor.

Ok, how do you know you havent even pulled it out or turned it on to see what we are seeing. He pulled it out, said he needed to order parts, that "should arrive in 4 days" now 9 days without a refridgerator.

It gets better he states we do not have the availability to come back out and install the part once it arrives until November 9th. Three weeks after our refridgerator has broke.

A main appliance such as a refridgerator should go no longer then 3-5 in disrepair. 5 days to even get a technician is unacceptable.

Plus the wait time for a part that we hope isnt on a boat at the ports waiting to be unloaded.

They should have replaced the 2013 refridgerator, no questions asked.

They want to wait for the parts and sell the refridgerator upon fixing it, go for it. But to leave a family wihtout a refridgerator for almost 3 weeks is not acceptable.

Did not fix my washer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My Kenmore washing machine began banging violently during the spin cycle. I have owned it for a year and it never did this before.

I called HSA for service and the tech told me I was loading it wrong. I said no way but let him go and gave it another go. It continued to do this. I called to have them come out again.

The phone agent said he would order the springs because he was sure this was the problem When the tech returned in a week without springs and told me I was doing my laundry incorrectly again, I demanded another tech. Well the next guy came the next day and backed up the other two. So my husband took the back off and sure enough the springs were toast! I ordered a new spring kit and my husband put them on and it works perfect!

EVERYTIME I load in correctly or incorrectly! Could this have been their practice because my warranty was expiring in a month? Or maybe because they replaced my furnace a year ago? WTF when I called and demanded a supervisor the agent repeated there was nothing they could do because my warranty was expired.

BS! springs becaus he was sure this was the problem

I called to ask if a particular issue was covered under my warranty. The customer service rep on the phone was rude and would cut me off when I was speaking. I asked to take the survey at the end of the call, so he put me on hold and never transferred me to the survey.

Water heater replacement

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Jul 12, 2021

Home Security of America, Inc.P.O. Box 849Carroll, IA 51401July 12, 2021Jack G.

FarlingAgreement: 29495****Request 6893****H.S.A.: I have been trying to get the water heater in my condo replaced since June 5th, 2021 on original request 7365****. For some reason, the request was canceled, and a new request was opened on June 25th, 2021 68****67. Since there is no way to communicate with anyone at your company that has the authority to accomplish anything, I am writing this letter. I will be posting it to Facebook and Pissedconsumer.com.

The contractor was originally very prompt in getting out to the property to view the situation. Within a day or so, I received notice of the extra expenses involved. I wasn’t surprised and approved to move forward. The contractor was supposed to come on June 29th, but the water heater your personnel had not arrived.

We then set another time for Tuesday the 6th, and still no water heater. He supposedly received approval to purchase the unit at a local Lowe’s this past Saturday and be at my house to install. He was delayed, and I had an engagement scheduled that I could not miss. Upon sending Shawn a picture of the area he called and said they could not complete the job as originally specified, and there would need to be an HVAC contractor.

The vent in question is an exhaust stack that vents furnaces and water heaters for the three condos on the first, second (me), and Third floors. Throughout this ordeal, I have spoken with your service agents who are barely understandable several times with no success. The only time my request was elevated was when I said I would like to see the cash-out price. The message that I was sent had indicated $462.75 as the buy-out figure.

That amount would not even cover the price of a water heater, let alone the installation. I’ve HAD IT. One of the two customer service agents I spoke with this morning cut off my call when I requested to speak with a supervisor. I no longer want the assigned contractor to contact me, and I want the money that I paid for the 2020/2021 term refunded in FULL.

I am already telling anyone that will listen on social media and Pissedconsumer.com what a bunch of crooks the entire Frontdoor/H.S.A./American Home Shield is.

Please refund my full policy cost at once, or I am going to sue in small claims court. I may be reached at the contacts below.

UPDATE: 7-12-2021 I Placed a service call on June 5th. The company canceled it, had it re-instated. The contractor reviewed the site got a price. No service due to the wrong unit shipped. Got a new price today for modifications. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THESE PEOPLE. This the 2nd residence that I bought with the HSA warranty and they are nothing but uncooperative. You can never speak to someone that has the authority to fix your problem. I would NEVER deal with these people again.

Waste of Money

Hsa Home Warranty - Waste of Money
HSA is a complete waste of money. I placed a service request for a roof leak over four months ago and they have yet to have it repaired. Everytime I call for an update, they claim that they're escalating the problem to contract relations and that they will call me back. No one ever calls me back and they will not allow me to speak with the contract relations department directly. My house is continuing to become damaged everytime it rains. Take my advice and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH HSA!!

Terrible Service!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Air Conditioner had a tune up in May. Contractor said it was working perfectly. In July stopped working completely!! (2nd service fee) HSA sent it to a contractor that doesn't do emergency service. Then proceeded to wait for them to respond hours later regarding the fact that they don't do emergencies. Now, we have to wait another entire day to get anything soe with our unit!

Not paying for damage

Home warranty companies! Sometimes they are great and other times they suck. HSA HOME WARRANTY was great at first but now they suck!

When I moved into my new house, my oven went out. They replaced it. No problems. But when my heat pump started making a noise from *** they called out a guy from Chicago that new nothing and destroyed my furnace and air conditioner to the point they needed to be replaced.

He also let the Freon out into the air! 17 lbs. of it! So I fired him and I asked for a second opinion.

They sent out JL Mechanics from Valpo. He did a great job of getting everything approved for new equipment. However there are a few things the home warranty company will not pay for. $400 of equipment the first guy destroyed. Which wouldnt have to be replaced if he hadnt destroyed it. All in one Heating , dont use this company!

So why do I have to pay for it? HSA says I have to, because its not covered under my plan. But it was destroyed by they guy they called out.!

You cant call them and ask for a supervisor, they will not put you through. And they speak very little english!

They will not budge!

They have became very hard to work with !

So if you need a home warranty company, DO NOT CALL HSA ! Please call someone else! This started March 7th, my first call to them, just yesterday my new air conditioner and furnace were installed. So we had no heat for a while, and no Air! And they knew this! But they dont care!

Thanks to Justin from JL Mechanics for putting in my new air, and furnace after the first guy left it in shambles.

STAY AWAY FROM HSA HOME WARRANTY

Disgusted home owner. I have been scammed by HSA and their technitions

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been scammed by HSA technicians who charged me $960 for bringing the water heater up to code (he bought a yellow pipe!). He left the old water heater in the back of my house for three weeks. I called HSA to complain, and they said, "the tech can charged what he wants, it is a private business". They supervise the quality or cost, customer service people live in the Philippines...total scam.
